Our tightHOUSE Door and Window Seal is different to others available on the market, as it can easily draught proof a range of gaps around most external doors and windows. Most doors, especially over time, suffer from inconsistent gaps from top to bottom, and this can cause problems of the door not closing properly with conventional seals. This seal folds over and adjusts to the uneven gaps providing a trouble-free solution once installed but also over time, should not effect the door from closing or opening.

Also performs amazingly well for acoustic attenuation for outdoor noise coming through your door.

Incredible product

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this one - it has made a HUGE difference. We’ve had some insulation work done on our house but the effects were minimal because we were yet to seal all draughts. So we went off to Bunnings to buy some weather stripping (bought both of the popular brands that were available in varying thickness levels). Did all the windows and the front door - only to be massively disappointed. The door would not close, and the awning windows had gaps that weren’t even due to the warped wood, so we still could feel the cool air coming through. It maybe made a very minimal difference, but felt like a waste of money. I then went down the rabbit hole of looking for alternatives - there were some very expensive options ($200 for ONE window) or cheaper options like the weather stripping we already had. I then came across a post on Reddit that swore by the V type weather strips from tight house - I was a little skeptical at first but with no other options available, decided to take a leap of wait and ordered the 50m roll. It arrived very quickly and I tested it out on one window - the first try took a little longer, but I got there in the end. It worked perfectly on the sides and bottom of the awning windows (I had to cut a little portion out for the window winder, which I realised AFTER I had already stuck it on). The strip did not quite work on the top of the window, it appeared to get pulled off the surface as I closed the window. I may not have installed it properly, I’m unsure, but ended up using the Bunnings weather strips for the top instead and that worked fine. It seemed to do a good job so I installed it on all the remaining windows and the front door - it has worked like a charm. The house stays warmer for much longer after the heater has been turned off (I know this for a fact as I’ve got little digital thermometers set up to track temperature drops). Although it isn’t advised to do so, I’ve also used it on an internal door as well (and it has worked fine).
I would highly recommend this to anyone struggling with trying to find the right product to use on doors and windows in an older house!

Wish I had know about this product sooner. It has made such a difference in stopping draughty double hung sash windows and keeping the heat inside.

Door and window seal

Absolutely love the door and window seal from Tight House - it works on my very old hopscotch windows in my Queenslander! So easy to install - just in time to stop winter westerlies getting in!

V Seal

Great product . Easily fitted on back door. Waiting for delivery of leak detector, for further use, indoors.
